The SBI Mutual Fund was established on June 29, 1987, and incorporated on February 7, 1992. It offers 84 primary schemes. The AMC provides 24 equity funds, 16 debt schemes, 6 hybrid schemes, and 38 others, including solution-oriented and passive solutions. The SBI Mutual Fund was the first to introduce a 'Contra' fund, the SBI Contra Fund, to India. In 2013, it acquired the Daiwa Mutual Fund from the Daiwa Group in Japan.
