History of Baroda BNP Paribas Mutual Fund

Bank of Baroda partnered with BNP Paribas Asset Management to form Baroda BNP Paribas Mutual Fund in 2022. Bank of Baroda will have a 50.1% stake in the AMC, while BNP Paribas Asset Management will hold the remaining 49.9%. As of December 31, 2024, the company's assets under Management stood at Rs 46,791 crores. Baroda BNP Paribas Mutual Fund will offer 42 schemes across equity, hybrid, debt, and overseas fund of funds.

Baroda BNP Paribas Mutual Fund was established as a trust under the Superseding Trust Deed dated February 14, 2011 and First Supplemental Deed of Trust dated July 24, 2019. The Fund was initially constituted as ABN AMRO Mutual Fund by the provisions of the Indian Trusts Act, 1882, by the original Sponsor, ABN AMRO Bank N.V., as per the terms of the Trust Deed dated April 15, 2004, and consequent to global restructuring, the Fund was renamed from ABN AMRO Mutual Fund to Fortis Mutual Fund in 2008.

Since 2010, it has been named BNP Paribas Mutual Fund. Baroda BNP Paribas Mutual Fund was initially registered with the SEBI on May 27, 2004. After a change in sponsor, it was registered again with SEBI on October 20, 2010. BNP Paribas Trustee India Private Limited acts as the Trustee of the BNP Paribas Mutual Fund under Trust Deed (February 14, 2011), executed between the Trustee and the Sponsor.
